Call to Worship

Leader: Praise be to the Lord, who has made us into the Family of God!

People: For we were in sin, and knew not the way to righteousness.

Leader: And God, seeing we were lost, sent the Christ to lead us home.

People: Our beloved Christ died on the Cross that we should have life.

Leader: And God sent us the Holy Spirit that we should never again be lost.

All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Opening Prayer:(Pastor) O God, In Your loving mercy You sent us Christ when we were yet lost and filled with sin. Then You sent the Holy Spirit to lead us if we will only follow. We praise You, Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.

Opening Hymn: "Holy, Holy, Holy"

1 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.

Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

2 Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,

casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,

who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

3 Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,

though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,

only thou art holy; there is none beside thee

perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity.

4 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.

Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Readings of the Day:

Genesis 1:1-2:4a, Psalm 8

2 Corinthians 13:11-14

11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All God's people here send their greetings.

14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Matthew 28: 16-20

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Sermon

Holy Communion

Closing Hymn: "Go Make of All Disciples"

Verse 1: Go make of all disciples

We hear the call O Lord

That comes from Thee our Father

In Thy eternal Word

Inspire our ways of learning

Through earnest fervent prayer

And let our daily living

Reveal Thee everywhere

Verse 2:Go make of all disciples

Baptizing in the name

Of Father Son and Spirit

From age to age the same

We call each new disciple

To follow Thee O Lord

Redeeming soul and body

By water and the Word

Verse 3: Go make of all disciples

We at Thy feet would stay

Until each life's vocation

Accents Thy holy way

We cultivate the nature

God plants in every heart

Revealing in our witness

The Master Teacher's art

Verse 4: Go make of all disciples

We welcome Thy command

Lo I am with you always

We take Thy guiding hand

The task looms large before us

We follow without fear

In heaven and earth Thy power

Shall bring God's kingdom here

Benediction:May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

Choral Benediction: Go now in peace, go now in peace; may the love of God surround you everywhere, everywhere you may go.
