Call to Worship

Leader: Let God's people gather this day in worship and song before the Lord!

People: For the Lord is holy and gives to each the gifts for service.

Leader: Then let us use our gifts freely to serve our Lord and Savior.

People: Let the redeeming light of Christ be shined in the darkness of the world.

Leader: Let us celebrate together and serve Christ with all we have been given.

All: Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Opening Prayer:(Pastor) Almighty and most gracious God, You have called us to service and have even provided for us all we would need in order to serve through the presence of Your Holy Spirit. We praise You, O Lord. In Christ we pray. Amen.

Opening Hymn: "Wonderful Grace of Jesus"

Wonderful grace of Jesus,

Greater than all my sin;

How shall my tongue describe it,

Where shall its praise begin?

Taking away my burden,

Setting my spirit free;

For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Refrain:

Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,

(Matchless grace of Jesus)

Deeper than the mighty rolling sea;

(Higher than the mountain, sparkling like a fountain,)

Wonderful grace, All-sufficient grace for even me!

Broader than the scope of my transgressions,

Greater far than all my sin and shame;

Oh, magnify the precious Name of Jesus,

Praise His Name!

Wonderful grace of Jesus,

Reaching to all the lost,

By it I have been pardoned,

Saved to the uttermost;

Chains have been torn asunder,

Giving me liberty;

For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Wonderful grace of Jesus,

Reaching the most defiled,

By its transforming power,

Making him God's dear child,

Purchasing peace and heaven

For all eternity-

And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Prayer Time

Joys

- Megan writes about Matilda, "Gratefully, her doctors believe she has cleared the infection. She is starting with small amounts of food today, which we are all excited about as she's been pretty hangry after no food my mouth for the last ten days. They will restart her feeds very slowly so they can monitor for re-occurrence. It will probably take 10 days before she will be at full volume for feeds. My fingers are crossed that she hits the ground running with feeds and we can be out of here shortly after she gets to full volume! She will likely come home on oxygen but we don't mind since the most important thing is getting her home with us.

- Tracee writes, "I got a random text from Jason, AKA Trooper Jason, he said to thank everyone for the prayers and he's doing better! Still in therapy but it's going better! PRAISE THE LORD!"

- Birth of Finley Kate, daughter of Kelsey and Josh

- Some returning to jobs

- Our Graduates from High School, College, and Grad School

- New jobs and new homes

Joy and Concern: Pastor Barb and Pastor Wendy and their families in new churches, and saying goodbye in current churches.

Concerns

- Danetta (Stanley's daughter), has been hospitalized with COVID 19, but would be able to come home after getting off oxygen.

- New families

- James Sizemore, being deployed

- For our leaders and our world

- The unrest and unfairness of our world

- For those affected by discrimination

- For those hurt by the riots

- Coming back to worship.

- Those who are working in Hospitals, doctor's offices, in the prisons, the first responders, maintenance people, and all of those who are going into work.

- Those who have lost jobs and those wondering how they will survive

- Those who are ill, those who have lost loved ones

- Those who are alone and those who cannot find any alone time

- Those in nursing facilities, their families, and the staff of those facilities

- Those of us looking for answers and those of us who believe they have all the answers

Prayers

Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Hymn: "Love Was When"

Love was when God became a Man,

Locked in time and space, without rank or place;

Love was God born of Jewish kin;

Just a carpenter with some fishermen.

Love was when Jesus walked in history,

Lovingly He brought a new life that's free,

Love was God nailed to bleed and die

To reach and love one such as I.

Love was when God became a Man,

Down where I could see Love that reached to me;

Love was God dying for my sin

And so trapped was I my whole world caved in.

Love was when Jesus met me, now it's real;

Lovingly He came, I can feel He's real!

Love was God, only He would try

To reach and love one such as I.

Scripture Lesson:1 Corinthians 12: 1-11

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak. 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says "Let Jesus be cursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.

Closing Hymn: "Blest Be The Tie That Binds"

Blest be the tie that binds

Our hearts in Christian love;

The fellowship of kindred minds

Is like to that above.

Before our Father's throne

We pour our ardent prayers;

Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one,

Our comforts and our cares.

We share our mutual woes,

Our mutual burdens bear;

And often for each other flows

The sympathizing tear.

When we asunder part,

It gives us inward pain;

But we shall still be joined in heart,

And hope to meet again.

Benediction:"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV

Choral Benediction: Go now in peace, go now in peace; may the love of God surround you everywhere, everywhere you may go.
